These are a few of the many examples of people who use their talents to serve God and people. As you can see, some of the talents are very specialized and some are rather mundane. But as you have read from the parables, God evaluates your faithfulness based on what you do with the talents and treasures He has given you, no matter how “big” or “small” those talents and treasures are in the eyes of the world.
- Potter’s Field — As a couple, Michael and Pam Rozell use his passion and talents for pottery and her musical gifts to preach the Gospel and the message of forgiveness and healing. Their ministry also feeds and educates tens of thousands of kids in several countries. They have also established a training school to help young people learn and serve in those ministries.
- Youth with a Mission (YWAM) — Christians from all over the world get trained and serve in various capacities. Their University of the Nations has many academic disciplines to help train missionaries in different opportunities of service, including but not limited to education, medical care, arts, sports, and community organizing. One particular discipline involves learning to provide medical care with limited local resources, which can be passed onto locals to serve even more people.
- Mechanics Ministry of Water of Life Community Church — These auto mechanics provide free automotive services to single mothers, widows and women whose husbands are away in the military. At their quarterly service events, volunteer beauticians also offer free hair cuts to those in need.
Whatever your talents are, you can find a way to serve God and others through them. Never underestimate what God can do through you!
